Lobster Spices

In the waters of the northern Oman Sea and Persian Gulf, two species of lobster are found: the rock lobster, also known as marine crayfish or spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus), and the flathead lobster, also known as sand lobster or slipper Lobster (Thenus orientalis). Both species are commercially valuable, and we supply them for export. For more information, for detailed information click here.

Lobster Coughing Locations

Firstly, it’s important to note that lobster breeding in Iran has been successfully conducted in concrete ponds as an experiment. Baby lobsters are collected from the sea and transferred to these ponds, where they grow to adulthood.

Secondly, the majority of lobsters reaching commercial consumption in Iran, especially for exports, are caught by fishermen in the Baluchistan province along the coast of the Oman Sea.

As a dedicated Iranian lobster exporter, we manage the entire supply chain in this province. This includes fishing, processing, and transportation, ensuring exceptional services for our customers. We take pride in being your trusted live lobster supplier, guaranteeing a reliable source of these prized seafood products.

How Lobsters are Caught?

Diving

Diver in full scuba gear swimming underwater

Diving for lobsters involves experienced divers descending into the depths of the ocean to hand-select each lobster from its natural habitat. This method allows for careful and selective harvesting, ensuring that only the highest quality lobsters are captured.

Our team of expert divers operates with precision and respect for marine ecosystems, carefully adhering to regulations and guidelines to protect lobster populations and their habitats. By choosing to harvest lobsters through diving, we minimize the impact on the surrounding environment and maintain the integrity of the ocean ecosystem.

Crab Traps

Crab traps, also known as lobster pots or lobster traps, are designed to lure lobsters with bait and then trap them inside. These traps are strategically placed on the ocean floor in areas known for lobster abundance. Once a lobster enters the trap to investigate the bait, it becomes ensnared, allowing fishermen to retrieve the trap later.

This method of lobster fishing is preferred for its minimal impact on the surrounding environment and its selective harvesting approach. By using lobster pots, we can target specific lobster species while minimizing bycatch and reducing damage to underwater habitats.

Processing of Lobster in Iran

Lobster Primary Transport

Transporting live lobsters from the fishing port to the processing plant is generally smoother compared to other aquatic animals like shrimp and oily fish. The main challenge is the relatively small volume obtained from each catch, which makes transportation a bit tricky due to the long distances between fishing ports and the need to keep this aggressive species alive. As lobster exporters, our focus is on efficiently managing the supply chain to maximize daily catch collection.

Sorting and Packing of Lobster

In Iran, all lobsters meant for export undergo processing at fisheries centers after being caught, similar to other products. Initially, fresh lobsters are sorted by size and then classified based on quality. Following this, packaging is customized according to customer preferences. Lobsters are available in fresh or frozen forms, with frozen options including whole lobsters or just the tails.

At Medes, an Iranian lobster supplier and exporter, we ensure high-quality sorting and processing by employing skilled personnel and conducting thorough inspections three times. Our goal is to ensure maximum satisfaction for buyers worldwide.

Lobster Storing

For frozen products, we store them in a refrigerator at -18 degrees Celsius and pack them in standard export cartons to meet quality standards and obtain necessary legal approvals. And For live lobster orders, we promptly place them in foam boxes with ice powder and swiftly send them to customs-approved centers at airports upon receiving permission.

In summary, as a top-tier lobster supplier, we take full responsibility for our products from sale to consumption, ensuring quality and meeting all contractual obligations.
